Vermont employers face revised tax rate forms
Vermont employers receiving notices of revised tax rates under a new provision of unemployment compensation law will be affected. About 5,000 employers are covered. 2,500 face higher rates, 2,000 lower, and 500-600 unchanged. The changes reflect a shrinking unemployment reserve fund of about 8.5 million dollars, now at roughly half its level five years ago, prompting legislative action to rebuild the reserve. Schedule 2 applies this year, with Schedule 3 beginning July next year.
