Critical Need for Space Plagues Arlington Schools
Arlington School Directors meeting faced a double challenge with rising construction costs and a de moralizing overcrowded program. Principal Towne described 25 to 30 additional students, crowded classes, and the need for new AMHS and Fisher Elementary additions to relocate junior high grades and restore facilities. The board reviewed revised high school plans by Alfred Granger, estimating costs and state aid, and discussed using the school for voting with no final action.
