Planning grant aids six New Hampshire Vermont counties

The Economic Development Administration approved a $54,000 grant to support continued planning in a 10-county cross state region. New Hampshire Vermont Development Council, Inc. based in Hanover will use the funds to advance efforts in Carroll, Coos and Grafton counties in New Hampshire and Caledonia Essex Franklin Grand Isle Lamoille Orange and Orleans counties in Vermont.

Vermont Democrats Draft Platform Behind Closed Doors

Democratic State Chairman Frank Esposito said the Policy and Planning Committee met privately at the Hotel Vermont in Burlington to begin drafting the party platform while 14 Republican subcommittees held public hearings in Montpelier. Co chairmen Cain and Young issued a statement inviting input via subcommittee chairs or at the September 21 Barre platform convention. Gov Hoff criticized the move but called the concept well conceived. Subcommittee chairs include Wright, Hayes, Balch, Naramore, Delaney, OBrien, Ristau, OBrien Jr, and Cain.
