Ground Broken For New Housing In Readsboro

Ground was broken this week for the community’s first housing development in Readsboro. The plan calls for nine ranch homes on a four acre tract formerly owned by Moisey Havreluk of School Street. The site on Tunnel Street sits on two elevations and was once eyed for a central school but Havreluk’s asking price of $10,000 proved too high. John Elia son and Franklin G. Lowerre Jr. of Rockaway New Jersey will handle contracts and open a local real estate office. The first home is being built for Mr and Mrs Arthur Eccher Sr of Main Street.
