Nine Satisfy Curiosity At North Hoosick Hearing
Nine North Hoosick Fire District taxpayers attended a public hearing before the Hoosick Falls town board to question a $2,500 annual funds request for fire department operation. Fire Chief John Gildea and Arthur Harrington outlined the need for a new water pump and a 20 year old truck. district plans include gradual funding over 10 years to buy a $20,000 vehicle, with fire tax rising from about $4.78 to roughly $8.50 per thousand. They noted private pool filling generates donations and serves as water reserves. trucks are run weekly to stay in service, and the town board clarified it merely collects and passes fire tax money back to the district.
