New Telephone Switching Aims To Cut Busy Signals
A Bell system experiment at Succasunna New Jersey showcases electronic switching that reduces busy signals and enables quick redial, short two to four digit dialing, and four party conferences. The system, part of a decade long 100 million dollar R D, aims to transform central offices by 2000 for Bell customers nationwide. In Vermont the Civil War Centennial Committee schedules a Cedar Creek commemoration in Montpelier with talks by Dr Louis Morton and a rededication of Julian Scott’s painting.
