Poet Will Address Unitarians Sunday at Bennington Library
Poet James Hayford will be guest speaker at the Bennington Unitarian Fellowship Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at the Bennington Free Library. His talk, A Poem is an Act of Faith, highlights his published poems in Harper’s, The New Yorker, Saturday Evening Post, and others. He has lectured for the Poetry Society of Vermont and taught at Amherst College, Columbia, Goddard College, Burr and Burton, and Winooski High School. Visitors are welcome, with coffee hour after and nursery facilities available.

Viewers Can See Film on Peace Sunday Morning on Home Screens
The World Law Fund will present an animated film The Hat by John and Faith Hubby with music and dialogue by Dizzy Gillespie and Dudley Moore from 10 to 11 a.m. Sunday on CBS TV. It will be shown in place of two religious programs Lamp unto My Feet and Look Up and Live, produced with CBS News input and in consultation with the National Association of Churches, the National Council of Catholic Men, and the New York Board of Rabbis. A panel including Archbishop John J. Wright, Rev. Dr. John Coventry Smith, and Rev. Dr. Robert Gordis will discuss war prevention and world order based on enforceable law. The Hat has earned multiple prizes at Venice, Tours, Melbourne film festivals, and the World Law Fund promotes peace education nationwide. Community listings include church services and activities across Bennington and Bennington area churches and organizations.
