Vermont to boost fuel aid for low income families
Vermont officials move to raise fuel cost relief by 50 percent for Aid to Needy Families with Children and Aid to the Aged Blind and Disabled, in a separate welfare check from December through March. The plan could add about 500000 dollars annually to welfare costs, with half funded by the federal government, while general assistance supplements may cost taxpayers 300000 dollars yearly.
