New Hampshire Senate to act on seven Thomson vetoes
The New Hampshire Senate will consider seven gubernatorial vetoes, five overridden by the House. The veto package includes a living will for withdrawing life support, with liability protections for clinicians. House overrides were 197 to 92, but the Senate is expected to show strong gubernatorial support on most issues. Other overridden bills affect hearing aid dealer registration, a state strip mining board, and time of day electric rates. A proposal would require eateries to post guidance on dislodging food from the windpipe. Two Senate bills vetoed by the governor concern an adult tutoring program and dredge and fill permits.
