Cheap shot sparks Chargers win over Boston Patriots
Boston Patriots led 7-0 before a late first-half incident involving linebacker Mike Ballou and Chargers punter Dennis Partee sparked a sequence of events. San Diego rallied to 16-14 victory at Harvard Stadium as coach Charlie Waller called the hit a cheap shot and a possible blessing in disguise. Odell Lawson kickoff return set up Boston's early TD, while Partee’s later injury risk and Ballou’s hit drew mixed explanations from players and officials.
