North Bennington weighs options as enrollment pressures mount
At a meeting North Bennington School foresees space limits and rising costs from growing enrollment. Discussions center on renting the old fire house for classrooms at 1000 to 1500 dollars annually, possible use as elementary or high school space, need for additional staff, and the impact on tuition students from Shaftsbury. District officials warn of tax increases and potential loss of accreditation if expansion is blocked.
