Manchester Officials Seek Changes To Route 7 Plans
Manchester officials including selectmen Sanford Zecher Clyde Bryant district representative Orrin Beattie and Michael Miller met with the state Highway Board in St Albans to press for modifications to Route 7 in Manchester The group fears the proposed plan would force heavy traffic through town split the town and create dead ends at Spruce Elm and Center Hill Streets They urge keeping the original alignment or a revised design that avoids new grade crossings and a two section town layout If approved temporary no parking on the south side of Routes 11 and 30 from Route 7 to Kilburns Hardware would be used to ease congestion until the bridge is widened Construction is unlikely before spring after winter weather and funding constraints are resolved Patricia Heinel daughter of Mr and Mrs Fred Heinel left for Fort Eustis Va to visit Lt and Mrs Edwin Norse for ten days.
