Lisbon ambulance fund brings new vehicle after nationwide support
Lisbon Maine volunteers celebrate a national outpouring of sympathy and donations that funded a replacement ambulance. Ron Kadlec said calls and checks arrived from as far as California and Louisiana after the prior vehicle was stolen and wrecked. A Reading Pennsylvania ambulance was donated but failed Maine space standards, prompting offers from Calais Maine and Hartford Connecticut to swap or modify units to meet state codes. Monetary gifts continue as Kadlec uses his savings and loans to secure the replacement.
