Party Strategists See Tuesday's Elections As Weathervane
In a batch of state and local races, Democrats and Republicans vie for mayoral and gubernatorial power that could signal 1968 White House sentiment. Key contests include Cleveland and Gary with Black mayoral candidates, Boston's racial dynamics, and a defensive battle in Louisville open-housing protests.
