High School Girl Killed By Car in Grafton New York
Delores Ann Crandall sixteen daughter of Jesse Crandall Jr and his wife was struck and killed by a westbound car on New York 2 near Grafton while walking with Alice Ann Dagle toward a friend. Sarkis Parsakian, sixty three of Watervliet, driving a 1960 convertible, passed a pickup truck and struck Crandall as he moved into the east bound lane looking at a dark object. Dagle survived with shock. Crandall died from a fractured skull. Crandall was a Berlin Central School junior and band member. her family includes four brothers and a sister. Her father is a Democratic candidate for Town Clerk in the next election.

More Education Funds Sought in Vermont Bond Issue
MONTPELIER UPI The Vermont Department of Education will seek a new four million dollar bond issue from the state legislature when it convenes in January. Director of Special Services Dr Rupert J Spencer says the existing six point three million dollar appropriation may be exhausted by year end unless approved. The funds cover the state’s thirty percent share of school construction costs. Spencer expects eight more projects totaling six million dollars to be authorized this year after already approving two point three million for current projects. Planned costs include one point two million for an Essex Junction facility nine hundred thousand for Swanton Union School District and seven hundred fifty thousand for the Grafton Rockingham Westminster Union District.

Killington Announces Major Ski Expansion Plans
Killington Corp unveils an expansion exceeding 25 million dollars to double ski facilities. Plans include the world’s largest gondola aerial lift and 58 miles of new trails, with a 18500 foot gondola and 3000 vertical feet.
