Assailant flees after choking attempt in Bennington
Cheryl Mull, 21, of 202 Valentine St., was found unconscious in her car on Route 67A at 12:30 a.m. with battery cables wrapped around her neck. She regained consciousness en route to Putnam Memorial Hospital and was listed in fair condition. Police searched the area with six officers but found no trace of the assailant.
