Mountain Towns Ten Baptist Ladies Aid Society met in the vestry to plan a June 19 lawn sale at Mrs Edna Carpenter and an Aug 19 summer sale, with funds allotted for flowers on the bridge. Wilmington Lions heard state engineers discuss Vermont highways and a possible bypass, and raised dues to 20. Memorial Day observances were organized with flags, wreaths, a firing squad, and a 10:30 program at Memorial Hall featuring Lincoln and Gettysburg tributes, choir and instrumental numbers, and a parade with scouts.
