Explosions Level U S Base Camp Evans Huey Helicopters Gone

A single Russian made 122mm rocket at Camp Evans near Huey leveled parts of the base and destroyed over 100 helicopters. The blast ignited fuel and an ammunition dump, with 30 helicopters badly damaged enough to be flown home. Casualties were described as light and security limited further details.

Emergency Board Funds Sought To Bring ETV To Bennington County

Vermont hopes to add Bennington Manchester to its educational television network by next fall with a request to the Emergency Board for about 50 000 to install two translators. UVM and ETV officials note past funding limits and weather delays delayed coverage for East Dorset south and east areas. Governor Hoff supports emergency funding to extend Channel 41 Windsor coverage to Bennington area for fall viewing.
