Draft Card Burning Law Upheld by Supreme Court
The Supreme Court upheld a 1965 law banning draft card burning in a 7-1 decision reversing a lower court. David P. O'Brien of Framingham Mass burned his draft card in 1966, was convicted, and remains jailed on a six year sentence though free on bail.

Weston Inn Fire Claims Life Of Resident Woman Employee
A fire at the Weston Inn in Weston destroyed the three story wood frame hotel early Sunday. Betty Elaine Bacon, 29, a resident employee, perished near her room as guests escaped. Amy Adams, 26, and Albert Dungan, 29, leaped to safety. Adams suffered a back injury and was admitted to Springfield Hospital in good condition. Dungan had a broken toe and was treated and released. Seven guests faced danger as Bacon attempted to reach air from a dormer window atop the inn.
