Hostages Criticize Philippine Military After Jet Hijack
Surviving hostages from the Philippine Air Lines hijacking at Zamboanga airport say they were unhappy with military handling of the crisis. Quick action by youths saves 3-year-old from river
Two local youths Ken Bishop and his brother Jimmy rushed to Furnact Brook behind the Willowbrook housing complex Friday evening after a 3-year-old resident, D. J. King, slipped into the rain swollen water. The brothers, both swimmers, pulled the child from four foot deep, swift current, with the younger jumping in first and the older following. They held the child above water until a log helped them reach shore as the river swirled around them. All three were soaked but unharmed.
