Stamford And Indian Head Plywood Co Land Sale Fight

Opie sues over a 3600 acre land sale to Stamford arguing a $1.8 million value, derived from 3600 acres at $500 an acre, is wiped to 36 cents by zoning. Stamford officials say zoning plans began in 1968 with TPA input and that interim laws preceded permanent zoning adopted July 23 1970. Opie may seek a variance or rezoning while town limits development to forest uses with conditional allowances for recreational, temporary shelters, and a municipal landfill.
