Voters in six Mt Anthony union districts will hear a proposed operating budget of 1,207,904 for the 1966 67 school year at the annual meeting in Benn ington Elementary School. The budget covers junior and senior high needs as the district assumes 7 12 education responsibilities. Details include administration, instruction, health, transport, buildings, and debt service with expected state aid and current fund balance reducing assessments. Officers up for election include moderator Waldo Holden clerk Lucy Johnson treasurer Michael Hogan and auditor Herbert Leonard. Hogan seeks reelection.

Cavalrymen Crush Viet Cong Battalions Near Bong Son
U S 1st Cavalry pinned a Viet Cong battalion against the South China Sea during Operation Davy Crockett, killing 141 and capturing 54 with hundreds more suspects. In nearby Da Nang area Marines seized Viet Cong rice hidden under a church floor, while air raids struck North Vietnamese dumps. Operation Georgia, now 16 days old, reports 93 Viet Cong killed and 21 captured as helicopters dropped in to trap the enemy near Bong Son 290 miles north of Saigon.
