Proposed Nixon standards threaten Manchester day care centers
Arlington and Manchester centers brace for federal income standard changes urged by President Nixon. The rule shift would cut subsidies, forcing many families to pay more or lose access. Manchester fears 10 to 12 of 35 full-time enrollees could depart, possibly closing smaller centers statewide. Arlington faces similar strain as leases and space near St James Church risk disruption.
