Joseph Murphy Heads Shaftsbury Fish and Game Club
Approximately 40 sportsmen attended a Shaftsbury Fish and Game Club meeting. Officers elected for the coming year include Joseph Murphy as president Harlan Fowler as vice president John Scarey as secretary and David Elwell as treasurer. Directors named were Arthur Carman Guy Mattison and Raymond Welch. The club cleared 159 on the snowmobile derby and plans to release pheasant this summer introduce trout April 1 and wild turkeys when woods clear of snow. A parcel of land on Eagle Street was purchased from Emma Hoyt to build a second trout rearing pool beside the existing facility.
