Cancer Crusade kickoff touts progress yet urges vigilance
The Cancer Crusade official Ed Steward told a Bennington luncheon that while the war on cancer is being won, thousands will still die and many delay checkups. He cited gains from early diagnosis, new diagnostic tools, and $123,000 spent on tomography evaluation, with plans for advanced mammography. Local leaders urged ongoing education and regular doctor visits amid rising lung cancer in men.
