Grants Fund RPI Albany Research On Dental Filling Material
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and SUNY Albany, backed by a National Institute of Dental Research grant totaling 148217 dollars for the first year, will study dental materials to find an ideal filling that bonds to teeth and withstands biting pressure and temperature changes. Researchers from both schools will examine alloys, metals, ceramics, and composites with advanced microscopy and corrosion tests to develop stronger, safer fillings.
