Nationally Prominent Painters On View At SVAC Manchester

The Southern Vermont Art Center opens the summer with seven one man shows through July 11. Highlights include Byron Thomas and Vaclav Vytlacil in the ground floor galleries while five Vermont and New York artists fill the upper gallery spaces. The review notes strong craft and variety, praising Vytlacil’s vigorous late works and Thomas’s refined, moody depictions of a fading rural America, with a few criticisms of sameness and sentimentality in places.
