Area Housing Needs Cited As Group Plans Corporation
A Bennington based group seeks to form a housing corporation to aid low to middle income families. Inspired by Pittsfield’s Micah Corporation, the plan envisions private capital rehabilitating homes, offering down payment equity, and transferring ownership as funds permit. The Micah model shows 300 shares of full voting stock and 5,000 limited shares at $100 each, with initial capital around $30,000. Current Bennington supporters include Kendall Rich, George Randall, Theodore Thomas, Rev. Herbert Sanderson, and others.
