Vision of the Virgin spurs two decades of church turmoil
In NECEDAH Wisconsin Mary Ann Van Hoof who claimed visions of the Virgin Mary sparked a long dispute within the Roman Catholic Church. Bishop Treacy ruled the visions false and in 1972 Frederick Freking interdicted Van Hoof and followers for disrupting parish life. She has not addressed pilgrims since the decree. Nearby Shaftsbury Vermont hosts a two week interdenominational church school and community talks on correction hunger and social concerns.
