Nursery school bans violent and disaster films for young children
Horace Mann School for Nursery Years on the Upper East Side issues a voluntary limit on children's television. The 230 pupils and 70 incoming students are urged to cap viewing at one hour daily and avoid disaster and crime movies. Parents report changes in behavior, favoring calmer play and improved concentration, though some oppose school censorship.
