Hoosick Falls boards keeps treasurer as full timer

The Hoosick Falls village board, after considering Mrs. Bernice H. Norton's resignation as part time treasurer, voted to promote her to full time with a $6,000 salary. Norton has earned $1,680 for part time work, including separate department bookkeeping and sewage plant duties, while serving 30 to 40 hours weekly. The board aims to open the treasurer office from 9 a.m. to 4:40 p.m., offset by cutting deputy spending, and to consider a $100 weekly crossing tender salary at the B and M tracks pending railroad gate agreement and engineer review.
