Common Market Nods To Free Movement Of Farm Goods
Six European nations of the Common Market reach a landmark accord to remove major obstacles to a common agricultural policy. By July 1 1968 tariffs inside the six will be lowered or removed, enabling 10 million farmers and 180 million consumers to benefit. The deal affects milk cauliflower sugar beets and other farm products and foreshadows broader economic unity across the region.
