Nesting Wrens Build Pants Pocket Home in Dorset
In Dorset a pair of house wrens reused a dried pant leg on John Sheldon's clothesline as a nest. The birds, living near Morse Hill Road, filled about 18 inches of the pant leg with nesting material and now enter the front via the zip to feed six chicks. The Sheldons clipped clothespins to aid the birds as they raise their brood while foraging in nearby brush.
