Legal action pits conservationists against ski developers at Mount Greylock
In Berkshire County Massachusetts five residents represented by the Mt Greylock Protective Association filed a suit in Superior Court to block the Mt Greylock Reservation Commission and Mt Greylock Tramway Authority from leasing and expanding a planned three thousand four hundred ninety one foot peak into a year round ski resort with a tramway. The action challenges private profits from public lands and seeks to curb plans including a tramway chairlifts lodges and extensive base facilities potentially reshaping Massachusetts highest mountain.
