Ohio Moves To Preserve Oldest Trees
WAUSEON Ohio old trees in the Goll Woods on a 320 acre tract near the Ohio Michigan border are being set as a state park. The burr oak measures 61.9 inches in diameter and is over 500 years old. The area hosts maples oaks sycamores cottonwoods poplars beeches ash and hackberry trees. Gov James A Rhodes envisions a 1700 acre park with a wildlife sanctuary along the Tiffin River.
