PSB Okays Yankee Power Stock Sale
The Public Service Board in Montpelier approved Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Corp. to sell another five million dollars in stock for its Vermon proposed atomic generating plant. The order bars sales to Massachusetts power interests and tops total stock authorization at twenty million dollars to finance the one hundred ten million dollar station. The board affirmed the plant will not pose undue health or safety hazards from radioactivity. It noted Massachusetts municipalities may participate only through Vermont utilities, preserving limits on non-New England investor involvement.
