Venezuela to shift oil profits to state control via service contracts
Venezuela plans a major shift in oil policy to give the state oil company a dominant role in new fields by 1984. The service contract system will let the government control firms hired to explore and produce, with profits rising to about 85 percent for the state. The first area to apply is Lake Maracaibo south, a powerhouse of output.

Six Members of Family Lack Fingerprints
Albany report says six members of the Gilbert Hale family have no fingerprints or palmprints. Hale is Fenner town highway superintendent and the finding arose during the 1969 New York state fair in Syracuse where visitors received fingerprint cards. Officials note identification could rely on ridge fragment details viewed with magnification.
