Sandgate Artist Finds Writing After Disaster
John W. Lundquist of Sandgate turned a two year old accident into art and prose. A neighbor suggested writing, and his story The Phone Call I Never Made appeared in Yankee Magazine January 1967. He recalls a freezing night, a broken hip, and a 40 hour nightmare ending with discovery by the mailman. His circles now watch out for him as neighbors stay connected and supportive. Lundquist moved to Sandgate in 1964 after 37 years teaching fine arts in Irvington New Jersey. His painting and wooden art are on display in Arlington.
