Bennington Sees a Restaurant Boom Amid Renovations
Bennington reports a surge of dining venues with four of five sites modernized or restored. A major project is a former horse barn on Harwood Hill being converted into a steak house by Paul Bohne III and Bruce Beh with head chef and manager Bruce Beh and Larry Robinson as bartender. The plan includes an 80 seat dining room and 20 seat lounge, plus upstairs living space and future expansion. Other upgrades include the Century Restaurant renovation at 511 Main St by Helen and Pietro Betts aiming for late January operation with 130 seats and Greek American menus, and the Four Squires at the Mouroutsos’ old location offering steaks, seafood, and shish-kebab with Open Hearth. The Steak Barn at 209 Northside Drive by Mintrone brothers reopens from Dec 22 with 11 am to 11 pm hours and a 1890s atmosphere paired with fast service.
