There were 33 alarms 13 false 39 telephone calls 13 4 bell alarms 5 mutual aid alarms and 2 bomb scares with 9 deliberate false alarms and 1 accidental. Two arson convictions noted and estimated fire loss of 135000. Major loss at North St Eagles Hall Paquin apartments. Appreciation extended to engineers officers Bennington Rescue Squad Police Chief Fox and others. ordinance on false alarms reduced malicious alarms from 26 in 1971 to 9 in 1972.
