Interstate Roads Lagging in Vermont
Vermont trails in the national interstate program with only a portion of the planned miles completed. As of December 31, 1965, 21,184.8 miles of the 40,930.1 mile system were open nationwide, with New England contributing 1,307 miles and 1,568 more to finish. Budget outlook includes a 1967 extension request and 90 percent federal matching. completion date remains tentative.

Passed Note Leads to Court Case in Brooklyn
An 8 year old girl allegedly passed a note in a third grade class. The girl was suspended and her mother met with the principal. Mrs Ozella Davis, 30, later attacked the principal and his secretary with ashtrays, was charged with felonious assault, and arrested after seeking a warrant for the principal. Both staff members were treated for head injuries. The incident overlaps with other unrelated budget notes and interstate program details in the same dispatch.
