State Aid Cut Raises Tax Pressure for Hoosick Falls

The cut would tighten finances for the last three months of the 1967-68 fiscal year and imply a $60,000 loss in state aid next year. Mandated programs and inflation push local taxes higher. Superintendent Philip Leonard notes 90 percent of programs are mandated and cites efficient budgeting with per pupil costs below state medians.
