Sub-zero Christmas blaze injures two in North Bennington
Two men were hurt and extensive damage occurred at the former Hall Park McCullough house in North Bennington during a pre dawn Christmas morning fire. Thomas Erlanger 22 of New York City a Bennington College student suffered serious burns and was moved to Albany Medical Center while Stephen Harris 31 a Bennington College faculty member was treated and released. Firefighters battled the blaze in sub zero weather for nearly two hours keeping the fire to the kitchen and former servants wing with minimal damage to the rest. A small dog found in an upstairs room suffocated.
