Manchester Highway Plans Announced For U S 7 Route Change
Vermont highway planners unveiled north south lane routing through Manchester from new U S 7 east of town. Plans shift Center Hill to a state funded throughway, relocate V1 11-30, and bypass a long grade with business impacts inside Adams Park area. Residents and selectmen support the concept and plan to send formal letters of agreement. Completion targeted for 1975 with rights of way purchased in 1973 and eminent domain hearings upcoming.

Air Force to release about 15,000 enlisted men early
The Air Force will voluntary release about 15,000 enlisted men in February whose terms would expire from October to December 1969 and who are not overseas. A prior plan allows January releases for those whose terms run to July to September. More volunteers are choosing to stay in service than expected.
