Operation Gift Lift in its seventh year collects and distributes gifts for patients at Vermont State Hospital Waterbury. Volunteers set up a temporary gift shop, staff select eligible patients, verify addresses and wrap parcels. In 1971, 3 455 gifts were received, 411 patients served, and 2 688 gift parcels mailed.
