Vermont Increases In Telephone Rates 20 Percent On Daytime Calls
Long distance charges in Vermont rose by about 20 percent on average, with higher increases during daytime when lines are busiest. The New England Telephone official said the higher rates will add about 1.895 million dollars in revenue and explained the new tariff differentiates direct dialing from operator-assisted calls to reflect rising operating costs.
