Joseph S. LaCroix 70 of 133 North Bennington Road died suddenly Friday night at Putnam Memorial Hospital. Born January 23, 1898 in Bennington to Adelard and Elizire Turgeon LaCroix, he worked at Cooper Needle Shop and at Holden and Leonard Woolen Mills. He married Mildred Wood on October 23, 1916. Survived by wife, six daughters, three sons, a brother, a sister, 42 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Services Tuesday at Mahar & Son Funeral Home and St. Francis de Sales Church with a Requiem High Mass. Burial in spring in Park Lawn Cemetery.

Resignation of Bennington Senior Citizens Center Director
Leonard J. Black, director of the Senior Citizens Center, submitted his resignation to the Bennington Board of Selectmen. The board reluctantly accepted the move, effective Jan. 15.
