Twenty Students and Two Teachers Rescued From Blizzard Woods
Twenty New York high school students and two teachers survived a night in blizzard conditions after straying from a school outing in Vermont. Virginia Moreton, 17, and Janice Nayton, 16, were hospitalized with frostbitten toes but in good condition. The group, part of Shenendehowa Central School’s outing club, went missing Saturday afternoon starting from Mt. Tabor Road, triggering a large search by snowmobilers and police before being found safe near Shelters along Long Trail.
