No secret Israeli Egyptian talks reported
A Beit Tel Aviv official rejected claims of secret meetings between Israeli and Egyptian officials while not ruling out talks at foreign ministerial or higher levels in the near future. FBI files fail to overturn Warren Commission on Kennedy killing
FBI documents show exhaustive 25 000 interview sweep with every tip chased while Hoover at times considered foreign or subversive conspiracy. Kennedy faults Schlesinger on energy package timing
UPI report quotes Sen. Edward M. Kennedy criticizing Energy Secretary James R. Schlesinger as missing the boat on the Carter administration energy package. Kennedy calls Schlesinger's presentation to Congress a disaster and says he undercut senators backing the administration on natural gas. He notes a prior clash over gas price proposals and pins hopeful pass later in the year on a 50 50 chance as the House Senate conference works. Kennedy supports most Carter domestic programs but urges faster action on national health insurance.
