Myron Vidal review echoes Myra Breckinridge sequel
Gore Vidal's Myron revisits Myra Breckinridge with campy cleverness and credits it as The Return of the Fly style. The plot follows Myron trapped in a 1948 film set where Myra, the dominant feminine force, aims to reshape Hollywood and curb American excess. The critique notes overindulgent cleverness, tiresome trivia, and a lack of strong, decisive conflict as Myra's plans spiral without clear stakes or resolution.
